How to Mindstorm

To understand how to Mindstorm, consider reviewing previous content on the 10-Goal method and the Superconscious mind.

Then, get a blank sheet of paper and on the top write your most important goal at the top in the form of a question.

Applying the Mindstorming Method

Using an example from the 10-Goal blog, consider:

“How can I have 4 weeks of vacation away from home per year?”

Below this question, write down a minimum of 20 answers. Allow these to flow from you without editing them. No answers are bad, they are all part of the process. When you start listing solutions some will come quickly and easily. Then you will get stuck. But persist. Keep writing, regardless of how ludicrous. Often people experience the most impactful and transformative ideas in the last two or three answers.

Once you have 20 answers, review these with an open but critical mind. Select the one or more that you think would have the most positive impact on your quest to achieve the goal. Then, put that one to action.

Mindstorming for Problem-Solving

The Mindstorming Method can also be applied to problem solving. Write the problem at the top, and all the possible answers.

Once you know this works, this can become another tool in your toolbox to implement regularly.

Academically, Julie has degrees in Health Studies and Gerontology and Health Science (Occupational Therapy) from the University of Waterloo and McMaster, respectively, and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier. She attended Queens University as a part-time Doctorate student prior to discontinuing her studies in 2023. Julie is also a Chartered Director and has Board and governance experience.

Julie grew up in a franchise family, so business is in her DNA. She has raised four daughters who are off writing their own stories as young adults. Julie is active and fit with a black belt in Karate, a competitive golf game, and enjoys many other sports. She believes in authenticity, showing kindness to all living things, and is happiest when helping others to build their own wealth and wellness.
