Lesson 21: Try Positive Intelligence®
Honestly, this program will change you. You just won’t know how much until you do it.
I came across the program at a particularly challenging time. I had four major life decisions to make, and all were weighing on me. The decision fatigue was accumulating, and I was past my usual stress response of over-functioning and was approaching the realm of dysfunction.
I had taken some courses in cognitive-behavior therapy, behavior activation, and mindful self-compassion, but I was having trouble applying that learning to my own experience. Therapist could not heal thyself.
Then comes Positive Intelligence. I first bought the book. I enjoyed it, but like many books I read I had a high-level understanding of the “gist” but couldn’t align those with the behavior of making actual change.
That is where the program came in. Through weekly structure, it drives behavior to move your thinking over time. Yes, you are doing the work, but the results are exponential to the time you spend.
Soon, things became clear. I knew what I needed to do and the decisions I needed to make. So, I made them.
Positive Intelligence mostly got me out of self-judgement and brought me to a place of understanding why I think the way I do. And my thinking has served me quite well over the years, until some of it wasn’t.
I recommend the program, highly.
Coaching Thoughts:
Where do you find judgment creeping into your day?
How do you talk to yourself in your own head?
How does your reaction to others help or hinder your relationships?
Your turn:
Are you most likely to judge yourself, others, or circumstances? Maybe it’s all three? For me, it’s self, but I would love to hear from you on this.
To All: Thank you for being on this journey with me – past, present, and future.
Julie
